Grad Photos: Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the school (note retakes can be arranged with the photography company). Each graduate will receive a class composite at graduation.

Grad Trip: Thursday, June 11, 2026 (destination TBD)

Grad Breakfast: Thursday, June 18, 2026 hosted by grade 8 teachers. Clap out immediately following for staff and students (who do not attend grad) so they can congratulate the grads

Grad Mass and Ceremony: Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 5:30pm at Holy Martyrs of Japan

Grad Party: Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 8:00-10:00pm in the Gym at SAM for the graduates. DJ, photobooth, food and drinks are part of the fun!

SAM Graduation Awards Criteria
At the Graduation Ceremony there are Awards that will be given to certain students.
The SAM Staff Graduation Committee recommends and votes on the recipients of each award.
- Academic Award - This award is presented to a student who shows overall proficiency in all subject areas and consistently produces work of high quality in all subject areas. They are willing to take academic risks and participate in all facets of class. These students always demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning.
- Arts Award - This award is presented to a student who consistently demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm, talent and appreciation for Visual, Dramatic, and Musical Arts.
- Athletes of the Year - This award is presented to a male and female student, as voted by coaches and teachers. These students participated on school teams and intramurals offered throughout the year and demonstrated exceptional athletic ability. These students were dedicated during practices, games, and physical education classes. They demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship, perseverance and were extremely coachable
- French Award - The French award is presented to the student with outstanding communication in the French language. This student participates fully in class, has excellent reading and writing skills, and has developed an appreciation for the French culture.
- Inclusion Award - Inclusion is recognized as a fundamental human right. This student wholeheartedly embraces diverse perspectives on race, gender, disability, and other areas of need. They demonstrate a commitment to providing equal access and opportunities for all.
- Most Improved Student Award - This award goes to a student who has shown persistence in trying to put forth a solid effort in all subject areas and has shown great improvement in work ethic and initiative over the course of the year.
- OECTA Catholic Values Award - This award is presented to a student who strives for personal excellence, exemplifies the core values of the Board’s mission statement, demonstrates a willingness to lead, and participates in the school community. This student strives for personal excellence in all that they do.
- Principal Award - A leader among their peers, successfully demonstrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations, this student exudes emotional intelligence, consistently takes on a leadership role in many of our school events, is cooperative with others and shows a positive attitude. This student also demonstrates respect for students and teachers in the school community at all times.
- Steward of the Earth Award - This award is given in recognition of exemplary contribution to sustainability and green initiatives at St. Angela Merici. The recipient understands that the fundamental relation between humanity and nature is one of caring for creation. Through their involvement in our school’s stewardship initiatives, this year’s winner is an inspiration to our entire school community.
- Valedictorian Award - The valedictorian award is presented annually to the valedictorian of the graduating class. The valedictorian is voted on by the students in the graduating class. This award was designed to reward the student who demonstrates a high level of commitment to the overall school program through active participation, positive behavior and by demonstrating the Catholic values that encourage our school’s mission statement of teaching goodness, discipline, and knowledge.
