“While the Internet can be an incredible social and educational tool, children’s online safety depends on parents/guardians taking a proactive approach to help protect their children from online exploitation” (cybertip!ca).
Internet exploitation can range from inappropriate sharing of personal information to the more serious human trafficking concerns in our society. The presentation will focus on awareness of commonly used social media apps and supporting parents in effectively communicating with their children regarding social media use. Resources provided by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection shall be shared with parents, as well as A Resource Guide for Families: Addressing Self/Peer Exploitation
