The Week Ahead: April 8 - 12, 2019

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead:
We are very excited about our latest “big” fundraiser organized by our Council, which has the potential of raising close to $44, 000 for St. Angela! Imagine all of the great materials and equipment this sum of money could purchase to enhance the experiences we provide our students! Imagine also the four lucky cash winners, the grand prize being $5000! Please support our first every SAM Lottery and good luck to all who purchase a ticket!
Our Council was also successful in securing a Parent Reaching Out (PRO) grant that has allowed us to bring Brent and Sarah’s Magic Show to our parents and children. Please join us this Thursday evening for a FREE show which is sure to delight everyone in the audience with its messages of perseverance, belief in self, and anti-bullying.
In the busy-ness of our days, we can get caught up in all of the “stuff” that occupy our thoughts and actions. And, while it’s fantastic for our students and staff to be involved in so many wonderful learning opportunities, we sometimes need to slow down to reflect on this time of Lent and the individual faith journey each one of us is on. This prayer helps to center ourselves again on what is important during this season of self-reflection and transformation:
Lenten Prayer for Transformation
Loving Father,
I invite you into my life today
and make myself available to you.
Help me to become the-best-version-of-myself
by seeking your will and becoming a living example
of your love in the world.
Open my heart to the areas of my life that need to change
in order for me to carry out the mission
and experience the joy you have imagined for my life.
Inspire me to live the Catholic faith
in ways that are dynamic and engaging.
Show me how to best get involved in the life of my parish.
Make our community hungry for best practices
and continuous learning.
Give me courage when I am afraid,
hope when I am discouraged,
and clarity in times of decision.
Teach me to enjoy uncertainty and lead your Church
to become all you imagined it would be
for the people of our times.
Amen.
