The Week Ahead: January 28 - February 1, 2019

The school year is comprised of 40 weeks, 20 in the first term and 20 in the second. This week marks 20 of the first 20 weeks. This week officially marks the end of Term 1.
Teachers and DECEs are busy completing and reviewing student assessments that will inform the report cards. Students are encouraged to ensure all assignments are handed in on time and to approach their teachers if they have any concerns. Students are also encouraged to begin the process of reflecting on their efforts to date and academic achievements of the first term so they can begin setting realistic and attainable goals for the second term.
On another note, we are deep into winter and a very cold mass of Arctic air has a firm grip on much the country. Students are reminded to dress warmly for these conditions. While we do keep a close eye on the weather and keep the students indoors when temperatures are extreme, there is the expectation that students go outdoors when temperatures are cold but not extreme. To enjoy the fresh snow, students should wear snow pants and boots.
