The first week of November is Crime Prevention Week. Our grade 3 students have been invited by South Simcoe Police to share who they believe are their heroes by participating in a poster contest.
This week, we also celebrate Treaty Recognition Week. In the Week Ahead, you will find links that will provide additional information about how this is being taught in our school. "In Ontario, we believe all students are enriched by learning about the histories, cultures, contributions and perspectives of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit peoples in Canada... The goal of this week is to promote public education and awareness about the history and importance of treaties and treaty relationships." (Mitzie Hunter, Minister of Education)
