Snow Days: Know Your Zone!
Our school community is located in the South Zone inclement weather zone.
If your child is bused to school, it is important to be aware of the inclement weather zone for our community. As always, you can visit the Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium at www.simcoecountyschoolbus.ca, or listen to the local media for bus cancellation notices, including partial cancellations in an inclement weather zone. The school does NOT make the decision to cancel buses.
Please do not phone the school to inquire if buses are canceled.
If your child is a “walker” and you do not want to send him/her to school due to severe weather, please call the school at 289-231-2085 option 5 or use our online safe arrival form. "Walkers" are expected to attend school on a bus cancellation day.
If the buses do not run in the morning, they will not run at dismissal time. Therefore, transportation to and from school, on a snow day when buses have been cancelled, is solely the parent’s or guardian’s responsibility.
Please note that on days when buses are not running, students in attendance will continue to receive the same level of supervision as on any other school day. Regular classroom programs, however, are suspended ONLY when a large number of students or staff are absent.
Please note: If buses are cancelled, events for that day will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date. Food & Snack Options are not cancelled; ONLY bus students not at school will be reimbursed.
