St. Angela Merici - May 2016 Newsletter

Message from the Office
This year’s theme for Catholic Education Week was “Opening the Doors to Mercy” which was wonderfully celebrated at St. Angela Merici School.  We began the week with our Recognition Assemblies, celebrating those students who demonstrated the qualities of a discerning believer.  Many of our classes performed in the Mary Poppins Presentation and parents and other family members had the opportunity to enjoy this amazing show.  The Marion Celebration was a wonderful way to welcome Mary into our hearts.  Thank you to those classes for all their help in organizing this lovely event.  The Town of Bradford was part of our “May the Fourth Be With You” Walk and Wheel event.  It was great to see so many families walking and wheeling to school.  The students enjoyed the “Big Apple Crunch” as a healthy treat for participating in this Walking Wednesday event.  And lastly, Hydro One celebrated Arbor Day with our Grade 3 students.  The students listened to information about the importance of planting trees and then had the opportunity to help plant two Crimson King maple trees that were provided by Hydro One.  Each Grade 3 student took home a small tree sapling to plant in their yard.
